John 10:10 (KJV)
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Hosea 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:
In the Old Testament God’s people were the prophets and other believers during that time and before the day of Pentecost. Since the day of Pentecost, after Jesus Christ was ascended into heaven, God’s people are the Christians. Christian means Christ in. A person becomes a Christian when they make Jesus Christ Lord of their life and believe that God raised him from the dead.
Romans 10:9 &10
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
When a person confesses theses verses either out loud or in their own heart, they become Christian. They have God in Christ in them. They become a believer by the Word’s standard.
Hebrews 11:6
But without faith [pistis, believing] it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall added unto to you.
When God made Adam and Eve He gave them free will and He’s never taken it away. He wants us to seek Him out, to learn about Him, to get to know Him by way of a knowledge of His word. When we seek God out, we by our own free will choice are choosing to get to know Him better. He wants to bestow upon us many benefits, and blessings, but we need to be willing to receive them from Him. In order to receive God’s blessings we need to have faith as Hebrews 11:6 says.
Psalm 1:2-3
But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.
And he shall belike a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.
When we seek out God, and delight in His law, (the bible) we will see that God is truly a rewarder of those that diligently seek him. We will see that God does indeed keep his promises to His children. We will find that our quality of life will improve as we reap the benefits of Psalm 1:3 which encompasses health, finances and producing intended results of our actions.
